    With a twelve foot clock looming as a reminder of the time one wastes on spite and hate, QAAW brought to life the Dickens classic following Scrooge through the Past, Present, and Future in order for him to find the true spirit of Christmas and of life itself.

    QAAW brought this classic musical to life on the stage of the Fountain Performing Arts Centre with lively choreography, familiar musical numbers, bright costumes, and a cast of talent against a backdrop of welcoming, traditional sets. It was hard not to root for true love in this classic story redemption.

    A cast of actors making their QAAW debuts, many stepping on stage for the first time, this show was skillfully delivered with comedic timing and physical entertainment. Audiences left the theatre laughing at this story poking fun at community theatres taking on high art. Blessed are we who can laugh at ourselves for we shall never cease to be amused.

    A fan-favourite, this show had sold out houses on nearly every performance. Audiences left smiling from ear to ear after two hours of memories, laughs, and amazing entertainment. Newcomers Georgia and Peter recreated the beloved main character with ease, and they were supported by a strong cast of Pink Ladies and Greasers.

    A magical combination of set design, costume design, and brilliant vocal and acting chops brought audience members into a steam punk inspired vision of what it truly means to go into the woods of our own vices and how that journey can change us. An all start cast, this title drew auditions from all corners of the province, and introduced QAAW fans to several amazing new talents!

    Laurie O'Brien's costume design and creation took centre stage as the cast transformed into a sea of colourful creatures. Maya Read, in her final performance with QAAW before moving to study Musical Theatre at Sheridan, showed her immense talent as a singer, dancer, and actor as she led this fantastic cast through a fan-favourite story.

    This show was the acting debut for three of the six actors in the performance.  Audiences were wowed by the stage presence shown by the entire cast in the show, which challenged the traditional views on marriage and relationships.  A gorgeous and intimate set was the backdrop for a dialogue that brought us from laughter to tears and back.

    Hannah Moore made her QAAW debut with the role of Annie, winning hearts of audience members each performance.  A beautiful New York City skyline was the backdrop to a 68 member cast.  Veteran QAAW actors, such as Ray Baltzer, Greg Palmer, Mark Wainman, and Sherry Bishop, joined a stellar group of debuting leads, including Hannah Moore, Steve Roe, Jemita Aucoin, Hillary Webb, and Kerry Lawrence.

    The Peanuts gang, inspired by Charles Schulz, played to appreciative audiences.  A simple yet artistic set design brought theatre-goers into the familiar world of the comic strips.  Costumes and props we designed and created to scale, including a six foot tall doghouse for Snoopy, which made even the over 6' tall Alan Slipp look like an eight year old Schroeder.

    An inspired group of actresses guided the audience through a rollercoaster of emotion, leaving few eyes dry by curtain call.  The carefree nature of the characters in the script was challenged by the backdrop of a tragic story.  The actresses navigated flawlessly between love, loss, joy, sadness, anger, pain and passion.

    QAAW kicked off the 2015 season with this magical story inspiring us all to believe in ourselves.  A stunning cyclorama, accented by a striking, curved staircase set the stage for this Rodgers and Hammerstein's fairy tale.  Cinderella's dress delighted audiences as they watch Cinderella magically transform from a servant girl to a princess right before their eyes.

    QAAW's first Youth Experience Production was a stunning success, bringing together youth community members including actors, production team members, tech workers and musicians accented by a professional quality set of puppets made by Laurie O'Brien.

    As part of the ten-year celebrations for Quick As A Wink Theatre Society, Michelle Herx dusted off the script for her original play, based on historical events from Windsor.  Author and poet, George Elliott Clarke, honoured opening night with a reading from one of his works.  Minister of Tourism, Culture and Heritage (2009-2013), Percy Paris, also supported opening night.  The show was a great success and served as a launching pad from which QAAW embarked into its second decade of community theatre.

  • Quick As A Wink performed the Original Musical Glory Days in August 2004.  Glory Days was written by Michelle Herx, the founder of Quick As A Wink Theatre Society, and the music was composed by Roger Taylor.
