Thank you so much for agreeing to be part of the Quick As A Wink online musical revue. Although this is not the same as being together in person, we are excited to be putting this together. Please have your video to Toven by Sunday, January 24th. It is usually easiest to upload your recorded video to a sharing service like GoogleDrive or OneDrive and then email the link to Toven at tmaclean@qaaw.ca
For this video, we ask that you set up your phone/video camera and take a head and shoulders video of you singing without the instrumental music in the background. This means you will need to wear headphones and sing along with the track, so the only sound I will hear on your video is your voice (choose either track in the folder to sing along with). Please consider participating even if you aren’t keen on singing by yourself. We hope to have lots of singers, so if you want to participate but not sing, feel free to send in a video of you lip-syncing.
Please make sure you include a few seconds at the beginning and end of the video, so I can fade into and out of your video, without having to cut off abruptly. I will cut off any excess video at the beginning/end, so don’t worry about editing it. Also, make sure you are filming in landscape mode (ie make sure your phone is sideways)
In the link below, you will find the sheet music, and tracks to sing to. A small group will be singing the first half of the song. You don’t need to include a video of you standing still listening to the first part of the song. You can just start your video a few seconds before you start to sing. Please start singing at bar 41 (1:14)
Harmony – if you want to have a look at the sheet music and tackle some harmony, feel free! But otherwise, just sing the melody.
