Quick As A Wink Theatre is excited to ROCK’n’ROLL as we get set to present this “Nothin’ but a Good time” – HAiR RAISING, FACE MELTING musical, “ROCK OF AGES” as our first show of the 2025 season!

This JANUARY we are bringing “ROCK OF AGES” to the stage and want to share all the information you will need to know before you fully commit to Strapping On your air guitars and emptying a can of hairspray on your bangs!

Quick As A Wink Theatre values diversity, so casting will start from this position and always be open and neutral. Everyone is welcome and warmly encouraged to attend auditions.

If you are interested in auditioning we ask you to sign up for ONE of the audition dates. Please plan to arrive on time for the start of the audition, and plan to stay for the duration of the allotted time.

NOTE: Due to the mature subject of this show, participants under 16 years of age WILL NOT be considered. You must be 18yrs of age or older to be cast in a Lead Role. Auditionees ages 16 & 17 yrs of age will be considered for ensemble only.

Quick As A Wink Theatre Society is holding open auditions for their upcoming production of Rock of Ages!

Rock of Ages will be presented in Jan/Feb 2025.

No experience necessary.  Quick As A Wink prides itself on taking actors of all skill levels, from first timers to experienced actors, and teaching skills required to perform for a live audience.  Our mission includes the education of community members in theatre and performing arts!  

Friday, September 27th from 7:00pm-9:30pm at Falmouth District School

Saturday, September 28th from 1:00pm-4:00pm at Falmouth District School

Saturday, September 28th from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Falmouth District School

Sunday, September 28th from 2:00pm-5:00pm at CenterStage Theatre (Upper Performance Center)

What is Expected: Please plan to attend the entire time slot you select.

For the audition:

1.     Please prepare one verse and chorus from an 80’s Rock song, approx 45 seconds to a minute of music. 

2.     If you are auditioning for a lead or featured role please be prepared to read for the Audition Team. A scene from the show will be picked by them based on the role(s) you are interested in.

3.     Our choreographer will be doing a group dance audition, but also determining the key dancers.  Please come in comfortable clothing. (*Please note that the show consists of mature choreography, which will include individuals cast in the roles of strippers, who need to be in shape, sassy and comfortable in skimpy/sexy clothing.  Strong dancers who are proficient in jazz and modern styles, as well have strong rock vocals) Please indicate your dance experience on your audition form.

You may also be asked to do a vocal assessment to determine your range with our music director.

·        Rehearsals: Starting in October - Sundays, 2:00pm – 5:00pm (Full Group Rehearsals focusing on music and choreography), Tuesdays 6:30pm-9:30pm (Leads/Supporting roles scene work) at Falmouth District School or a different location based on locale of the cast.

Sunday, February 2nd Set Strike – Cast members will be asked to participate in dismantling and loading of sets, props, costumes, etc.

·        There will be one rehearsal between the two show weekends as a refresh.  

·        Full attendance during the rehearsal process and during production week is a requirement.  Attendance concerns should be brought to the attention of the production team well in advance of the conflict date.

·        All participants will be given a rehearsal schedule.  Conflicts should be brought to the attention of the production team immediately upon receipt of this schedule.

Props assistant - We are looking for someone to gather and create props
Scenic Painters - We are in need of several painters for set scenes
Set Construction - We are always looking for new volunteers to help the team build the set.
Front of House - Volunteers needed to work with our FOH Manager.
