Spotlight on ... Hannah Moore!

This very special first “Spotlight” of 2016 is on the wonderful Hannah Moore, the talented young actress playing the title character in our upcoming production of Annie!

Hannah is twelve years old, though she will be turning thirteen this weekend. (Happy Early Birthday, Hannah!) Despite her young age, she is already no stranger to the stage. “This is not my first time acting,” Hannah says. “I have been in over ten other shows. My first show was Oliver Twist, and my most recent show was Alice in Wonderland. My favorite part of acting would probably be getting to know the cast and crew members, and making new friends!”

When analyzing her character, Hannah sees both similarities and differences between Annie and herself. “Annie and I are quite similar in the fact that we are both very enthusiastic and caring,” she says. “In other ways we are not. Annie doesn't have a mother and father, and I have two loving and supporting parents. [Also,] Annie's hair is red and my hair is naturally brown.”

Hannah has greatly enjoyed being involved with our production of Annie so far, with one song in particular catching her attention. “I love the song ‘You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile,’” she says. “Unfortunately, I do not get to sing this song during the show. I like it because it has such a great orphan dance number and it makes everyone who is listening smile.”

When Hannah is not taking the stage, she has a number different interests and hobbies, including a very interesting favorite animal. “My favorite animal is probably the axolotl, because I personally think that they are cute,” she says. “When I am not acting, I will be found skiing, reading, playing volleyball, singing, camping, and I love to travel, even though I don't do it that often.”

Hannah would like to give a shout out to some of the very special people in her life. “I would like to thank my dad for always supporting me and working so hard to build props for the show,” she says. “I would also like to thank everyone who has come to watch and support me!”

If you would like to watch and support Hannah yourself, you can catch her onstage during our production of Annie, which opens this Friday, January 15th! For information on purchasing tickets, click here.

If you have never seen an axolotl before, Hannah sent along a picture to be shared with you!

Thanks so much for all your hard work for QAAW, Hannah! We cannot wait to see you and the rest of the Annie cast take the stage this weekend; break a leg!
