Spotlight on ... Joey Dykens!

Today’s “Spotlight” nominee is “Mr. Spotlight” himself, Mr. Joey Dykens!

Joey is relatively new to the Quick As A Wink community and even to the world of theatre itself. He worked with us for the first time just this past year. “I got involved with Quick As A Wink when Siranda [Lee] asked me if I could help out with Little Shop of Horrors,” says Joey. After acting as our Spotlight Operator during that production, Joey quickly formed an attachment to both theatre and to Quick As A Wink. “You guys are the best theatre society I have ever worked with!” he says.

Since Little Shop, Joey has since operated the follow spot for us during You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown and this past winter’s Winkie Awards. He also helped us out with certain marketing ventures, including advertising for our Charlie Brown show by walking with us in May’s Apple Blossom parade!

Joey hopes he gets a chance to work with us again in the future. “I have not really accomplished much in the world of theatre [yet],” he says. Not to worry, Joey; the work you’ve done so far has been great, and we are certain you will have many opportunities ahead of you where you can learn and accomplish much more!

Joey is a laid-back and easy going guy; when he isn’t working hard running our spotlight, he loves to play video games and also enjoys working as a DJ at Avon View High School’s monthly dances.

Thanks for all your behind the scenes work for Quick As A Wink, Joey!
