Summer Student Blog Entry July 19: Head Bangin’ Fun in the Catwalks

Clearly, I am not cut out to be in tech crew.

When I found out I was going to be working in the catwalks during the performance of Charlotte’s Web, I was super stoked. I had a great view of the action, and would be Charlotte’s assistant as I lowered her web and words.

Boy was I in for a treat.

I’ll be the first person to tell you, I am the clumsiest person ever. I have a habit of tripping, running into things, and finding bruises that I have no explanation for all over my body.

It’s universally known that up in the catwalks the ceiling is very low, and has lots of lovely beams supporting them- beams that were meant for my head.

I must have hit my head about fifteen times in the course of one day.

I’m surprised I didn’t knock myself out and fall onto the stage bellow during the performance. That would have been a sight to see.

How I do not have a concussion, I do not know.

The children did great in their performance, I was so proud of each and every one of them. It was great to have such a large audience to view what they have been working so hard towards all week.

Until next time, everyone! Let’s hope that the next performance doesn’t involve me doing anything where I could harm myself any more than I already have.

Cheers,

Meredith
