Hello all! WELCOME TO MY FIRST BLOG POST OF THE SUMMER! WEEOO! My name is Meredith Murray, and I am the Public Relations Manager for Quick As A Wink this summer.
It has been a very busy start to the summer. I have been promoting You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, conducting meetings with businesses for sponsorship, designing t-shirts for the youth summer camps, brainstorming upcoming fundraisers, and applying for grants for the theatre, as well as connecting with the community through social media.
I began the summer promoting our musical; You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, by sending PSAs and press releases to newspapers, television and radio stations, and local clubs. I put up posters around Windsor and the valley. After the success of the production, I then began the process of seeking sponsorships from local businesses and service organizations. I also had the chance to design the t-shirts for this summer’s youth camps. I loved this experience, as it gave me a chance to utilize my graphic design skills and visual art knowledge. These shirts will not only be available to the children, but may also be purchased by the public.
Being provided with the opportunity to work for Quick As A Wink this summer has given me a wonderful chance to be able to experience my future career. I want to pursue a career in creative directing or public relations, and working with Quick As A Wink this summer has only strengthened this dream of mine. Working for the theatre this summer is not only a job, but a privilege. Being able to have a creative outlet is important to me, as the arts have always been a very important part of my life.
